Life’s too short to spend 1/3 of your life at a job that brings you zero fulfillment.
Get High at Work!
The question
Why are 81% of all adult employees “not engaged” at work?
A 2025 study by ADP Research determined that more than 4 out of 5 adults in the workplace are not engaged at their job. The study emphasizes that employers should help their employees “find purpose.”
I think it’s your responsibility. More specifically, I believe it’s your responsibility to identify what brings you fulfillment.
How do you ‘find fulfillment’ in your work? You don’t find it; you create it. You make your work fulfilling by doing the things you were created to do, with zero expectation of anything in return.
Identify your gift, then give it away.
God-given Talent
× Giving
× Gratitude
Fulfillment
The intersection of work, talent, and the biology of giving and gratitude, explodes when you take the time to identify your unique gift, and then put it to work with zero expectations.
About Kevin
Kevin Sandlin is a serial entrepreneur, small-business owner, instructor, and speaker whose career has been shaped by one constant: learning through experience.
Let’s be honest: serial entrepreneur actually means “I’m unemployable.” I’ve failed miserably, and been miserable in many different roles.
Then I realized that, whenever I put my gift to work, all the other crap paled in comparison, and I loved going to work, no matter where it was or what I was doing.

How we work
Let’s start with a simple conversation. Arrange a video call and we’ll talk about what you’re working on, what you’re trying to accomplish, and how I might be able to help.
The what, where, when, and how are easy. The “why”, the message, is the deep, messy, fun part that’s all about your audience. That’s where we’ll really dig into how you – or your employees – can go about identifying what it is that brings you fulfillment, and how to put those gifts to work.

The Seven Things You Must Do to Win at SEO
This post originally appeared on the General Assembly blog. Most non-developers are completely ignorant of, if not intimidated by SEO. Even some software developers won’t go near it. Continuing with yesterday’s post, which gave five more reasons that every startup really needs to tell its story, it’s easy to understand how many startups simply don’t know where to start telling their stories. Tell Your Story
There are not many days that I don’t have the conversation with an entrepreneur or small business owner about “telling your story”. Nobody cares how much you know
Two times with two different entrepreneurs today, we had to do a complete 180 as we evaluated their messages to their prospects. In both cases, the main part of the messaging was focused on what the startup does. “We provide this or that to these people for this price, etc.” But in both cases, delivering…
